Winter Glimmers is coming.

This winter, Built Like Me is encouraging Melbourne families and businesses to put up just ONE simple string of lights out the front of for 3 weeks beginning on the Winter Solstice, Sunday June 21.

Not Christmas lights.
Not elaborate displays.
Just tiny glimmers of light throughout our streets during the darkest part of winter.

A small moment of warmth as people drive home from work.
A reason to go for an after-dinner walk.
Something children notice from the car window on the way home from sport training or childcare.
A quiet reminder that we’re part of a community.

Winter can feel long.
The cold, icy winds, darkness on the way too and from work can leave many people feeling isolated, flat or disconnected.

Winter Glimmers is about creating tiny moments of joy and connection across Melbourne for us all to enjoy.

Here’s how to join:
• Put up one simple string of lights outside your house
• Turn them on each night from Sunday June 21
• Keep them up for 3 weeks:
The final week of Term 2
plus 2 weeks of school holidays.

No pressure.
No competition.
No expensive displays.

Just little glimmers of warmth across our neighbourhoods.

Invite your street, school, sporting club, workplace and friends to join in.
