Thats why we run groups just for parents, and when we run group for kids, their parents join in as well.

PARENT EDUCATION GROUPS

Parent Education Groups are designed to equip you with practical tools, emotional support, and shared understanding, so you can better support your child’s growth both inside and outside the therapy room.

Who are these for? 

Built Like Me groups are ideal for parents and carers of children aged 4–12 who:

• Struggle with emotional regulation or meltdowns
   
• Have sensory differences or sensitivities
   
• Are autistic, have ADHD or are neurodivergent
   
• Are navigating anxiety, big feelings, or behaviour that feels hard to manage
   

 You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from Built Like Me groups.

 All parenting journeys are welcome, whether your child is in therapy, on a waitlist, or you're just looking for support.

Is your child starting school in 2026?
Our Ready, Set, School! program is designed to support both children and parents in building the skills and confidence needed for a smooth and positive transition to school life.

Why this Program?

Starting school is more than learning letters and numbers — it’s about:

• Joining play and making friends
• Managing big feelings and new routines
• Building resilience and confidence in new spaces
   

This program equips parents with practical strategies to support their child’s emotional regulation, social skills, and learning readiness, all in a fun, engaging, and supportive environment.

Whats Included?

• 1 x Online Parent Session (before we begin)
   
  • Introduction to strategies: scaffolding play, time-in approaches, tuning in, and using processing comments.
     
  • Tools to support your child in real-life social situations.
     
• 3 x Parent–Child Park Sessions (90 minutes each)
   
  • Gross motor activities to build confidence and resilience
     
  • Snack time to practise transitions and social routines
     
  • Story time exploring friendship, emotions, and problem-solving
     
  • Real-time parent coaching while your child plays

Tailored for parents of children in grades 1-6, these sessions will be led by experienced Occupational Therapist, Carmen Houlihan who is passionate about empowering families. Here, you'll connect with other parents facing similar challenges and triumphs, fostering a supportive community dedicated to growth.

What You’ll Gain:

• Understanding Regulation: the principles of emotional regulation and how they impact children's daily interactions.
   
• Understanding Sensory Modulation: Discover how managing sensory input influences emotional regulation and behaviour, aiding your child's focus and interactions in their daily life.
   
• Understanding Interoception: Learn the nuances of this internal sensory system that affects emotional regulation, behaviour, and sensory processing.
   
• Practical Strategies: Gain hands-on tools for supporting your child's emotional and sensory needs at home and in community environments.
   

Our Kinder child Parent Education Group is an inclusive space where learning meets empathy. Tailored for parents of children in 3 and 4 year old kinder, these sessions will be led by experienced Occupational Therapist, Carmen Houlihan who is passionate about empowering families. Here, you'll connect with other parents facing similar challenges and triumphs, fostering a supportive community dedicated to growth.

What You’ll Gain:

To secure your place in one of our Term 3 Parent Support Group, simply follow these steps:

2. Select "Group sessions": Go to the starting date of your preferred program.
    
3. Confirm Your Spot: After selecting Session 1, follow the prompts to complete your booking. You will be automatically booked into all 3 sessions. You'll receive a confirmation email with all the details you need in the coming weeks.
