We know that trying to secure therapy appointments for your child can be extremely stressful.
Wait lists are often extremely long and it can be hard to keep track of what lists you are on.
As a solo practice wait list times became unacceptable and so the casual appointment list was born.
Families with regular therapy spots often have times they are unable to attend appointments, this may be due to illness, other appointments or a planned therapy break. These spaces are then offered to families on the casual list. This is a great way to access initial assessments and gain some strategies to get your started while you await a regular therapy place with Built Like Me or another OT. Built Like Me maintain a small number of casual spots to ensure consistent access.
Some families require just a few sessions of therapy and this can be a way to access short term services. Other families use this as a step down out of therapy services. It can also work for parents who work shift work.
Spaces on this list are strictly limited to allow access to appointments to all on the list. When places become available applications open for a very short time via the contact form on the website. This is advertised on social Media.
Families have access to an online booking platform and e-mails are sent to the casual list to notify them when a last minute appointment comes up.
Casual appointments can occur via Telehealth or at the clinic. All appointments occur between 9:30 and 3pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
